Chicago Repair Co is a free referral service that connects Chicago-area homeowners with independent, local appliance repair technicians. We are the easiest way to reach the right local provider for your appliance, your brand and your ZIP code.
Who we are
Chicago Repair Co runs this website and the phone line on it, from Illinois. We are a referral service: when you call or send a request, we connect you with an independent appliance repair provider that serves your ZIP code. That provider diagnoses the problem, quotes the price, does the work and is responsible for it.
What we are not
We are not the technician. Chicago Repair Co does not repair appliances, does not employ technicians, and does not hold a trade license or insurance for repair work. We do not set prices, warranty repairs or guarantee arrival times. The full detail is in the disclosure.
How the provider network works
Calls and requests go to independent repair providers who have agreed to serve the ZIP codes listed on this site. Your ZIP code and the appliance you need fixed decide who you are connected with. We do not inspect providers’ work, so it is worth asking the technician the questions on the how it works page before a repair starts.
Where we cover
Inside the city, coverage is by ZIP code: most of the South and Southwest Side plus the Loop, South Loop, Near North Side and Lakeview. Outside it, a ring of southwest and west suburbs. The service area page lists all 48 ZIP codes with a lookup.

- Your ZIP code tells us which providers cover your address.
- The appliance and brand narrow it to a provider who works on it.
- We connect you with that provider.
- The provider schedules the appointment, diagnoses the fault and quotes the repair. You pay them directly.

The repair guides, cost ranges and error-code tables on this site are there to help you understand a problem, what a fix usually involves, and when a professional is needed. They are written from published sources, not from repair work of our own.
- Sourced. Prices come from named cost publishers (HomeGuide, HomeAdvisor, Fixr, Consumer Reports), recalls from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, warranty terms and error codes from the manufacturers’ own support pages, and local facts from government, utility and Census sources. Each page links its sources.
- Error codes from manufacturers only. If a manufacturer does not publish a code’s meaning, we leave it out rather than guess.
- No invented facts. No made-up reviews, ratings, statistics, local details or credentials. Where a fact could not be confirmed, it is not on the page.
- Dated. Cost figures carry the publisher’s date, and every page’s last update is listed in the sitemap.
- Not a substitute for a technician. Checks marked “check first” are safe for a homeowner; anything involving gas, refrigerant or internal electrical parts is for a qualified technician.
